How To Survive College Writing

When I first arrived here at Springfield College, I thought college writing would be one of my hardest classes. I was never a very strong writer and the thought of writing more than two pages absolutely terrified me, so I was convinced that I would struggle a lot. Although it has not been easy, I definitely feel like I have improved a lot over the course of the semester with the help of my professor and peers.
From my experience, I learned that the professors here really do care about the students and want to see you succeed. They are more than willing to help you if you need it and are flexible with their schedules to meet with you. I also learned that a lot of the other students around you are equally nervous. The use of peer review in our class definitely helped alleviate some of the nerves because it was easy to talk to the other students, getting their opinions and sharing ideas. Professor Hayman kept a very laidback atmosphere in the classroom so we were all comfortable with each other. We were all able to help each other grow as writers over the past four months. Looking back on it now, I would say I was nervous for no reason.

The class will challenge you to become a better writer, but it is nothing that any of you will not be able to handle. Have faith in yourselves, take things one step at a time, relax and you will do
